4 Step Guide

Step 1: Register as a Coach (ALL coaches)

How to register:

  1. Log in or sign up to our Registration system (SportzSoft) here:

  2. Click New Registration

  3. Choose Box Season or Field Season

  4. Select the correct coach registration

    • House League only: choose “BOX Coach House League ONLY”

  5. Complete the registration

Step 2: Coaching Certification (REP coaches only)

House League coaches do not need certification - move on to Step 3.

⚠️Register through OLA SportzSoft, this is a different login than PMLA SportzSoft but you can connect both by using the same email address when registering.

Choose the right level:

Community Development (U7–U13)
Required for:

  • All U7, U9, U11, U13 coaches

  • First-year U15+ coaches

  • Boys & Girls, Box & Field

Competitive Introduction (U15+)
Required for:

  • Second-year U15+ coaches

  • Boys & Girls, Box & Field
    You must complete Community Development first.

👉 Tip: Coaching both Box and Field? Take the combined course to save time and money.

Register for a coaching clinic on the OLA Coaching Clinic Registration Page 

After completing your clinic:

  • Upload your certification to SportzSoft

  • File type must be .jpeg

Step 3: Vulnerable Sector Check (ALL coaches & bench staff)

A Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) is required and ONLY a new declaration every season consecutively. If a Declaration is not submitted for any season, a new VSC is required.

VSC options:

  • Live in Peterborough / Lakefield / Cavan Monaghan → Peterborough Police online HERE 

  • Live elsewhere → OPP online HERE

  • Optional fast option: Sterling Backcheck

    • Cost: $27 + tax

    • Most results within 24 hours

Step 4: Making Head Way in Sport (REP coaches only)

Complete the Making Head Way in Sport – Concussion Awareness course.

After completion:

House League Coaches – What You Need

✔ Register in SportzSoft (see step 1 above)
✔ Vulnerable Sector Check and/or Declaration (see step 3 above)

(You do NOT need coaching certification)

Applying to Coach a REP Team

  • Coaching applications are posted before the season

  • Selected applicants will be interviewed

  • If chosen as Head Coach, complete steps 1-4 above and send bench staff names to Registrar carrieaguilar@ptbolax.com
