Lacrosse has deep roots in Peterborough, and at the heart of that tradition is the Peterborough Minor Lacrosse Association (PMLA). Founded in 1948, the PMLA is a volunteer-driven, not-for-profit organization dedicated to growing the game of lacrosse and fostering a lifelong love for Canada’s national summer sport among youth in our community.

For more than seven decades, the PMLA has been introducing boys and girls to the sport, teaching them the skills, teamwork, and respect that come with playing the Creator’s Game. What began as a small local program has grown into one of the largest and most successful minor lacrosse associations in Ontario. Today, PMLA proudly stands as the largest organization in Zone 6 and one of the top minor lacrosse programs in the province.

Our programs are designed for players of all skill levels, from beginners to competitive athletes, and welcome boys and girls aged 3 to 21. At the grassroots level, our house league program is one of the biggest in Ontario, offering young players a fun, inclusive environment to learn the fundamentals of lacrosse while building confidence and friendships.

For those who wish to take their skills further, PMLA offers a highly competitive Rep program that consistently competes in the top “A” division in Ontario. Our Rep teams are known across the province in both Box and Field Lacrosse for their strong play, sportsmanship, and commitment to excellence—carrying on Peterborough’s proud lacrosse legacy.
